Greater Lafayette 4th of July Celebrations

​Are you celebrating the 4th of July in Greater Lafayette this year? Take a peek through my lens and check out activities that are happening throughout the weekend in some of my family's favorite spots!

On Sunday, July 3rd

What: Family Fun Day
Where: Columbian Park
When: 10am-7pm

We've loved taking trips to Columbian Park the summer! There's so much to do, including visiting the Columbian Park Zoo, taking a dip in the pool at Tropicanoe Cove, or enjoying the train ride around the park! All are available this Sunday at Family Fun Day!

What: 1920s Family Fun + Farm Scavenger Hunt
Where: Prophetstown State Park
When: 11:30am-2pm

We received an annual park pass to Prophetstown and recently put it to good use visiting The Farm! This Sunday Prophetstown State Park is hosting a 1920s Family Fun Day at The Farm! Start with their family picnic at 11:30am and then check out a scavenger hunt! Attending the event is free with park admission!

On Monday, July 4th

What: 4th of July Parade
Where: 18th + Main St. to Columbian Park
When: 11am

Check out the city's holiday parade throughout the downtown area! The theme will be "Hat's Off to America!" and will travel down Main St. up to Columbian Park.

What: Stars and Stripes Concert
Where: Rhiele Plaza
When: 6:30-9:30pm with a Fireworks Show over the Wabash to follow at 10pm!

One of the most exciting ways to end the 4th of July weekend is to watch the Citizen's Band and more perform patriotic tunes downtown at Rhiele Plaza. Be sure to get there early and bring some snacks. Spots fill up quickly!
